Dr. Roumanis graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. She then completed a medical/surgical internship at the Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston Massachusetts followed by a residency in cardiology at the University of Pennsylvania. She moved to Connecticut in 1981 where she practiced cardiology and internal medicine in Norwalk for 6 years. In 1986 along with Dr. Karin Harter, she opened Berkshire Veterinary Hospital where she had a cardiology referral practice until September 2014 when they sold Berkshire Veterinary Hospital.

She has 35 years experience practicing small animal cardiology, echocardiography and cardiothoracic surgery. She now travels to veterinary hospitals for cardiac consultations and echocardiography.

She is a member of the Fairfield County Veterinary Medical Association, the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association. 

Cardiac consultations and work-ups are by appointment at the referring veterinarians office.
